Typefi has been exporting since 2007, and 90% of its customers are based overseas, with exports accounting for 92% of revenue in the 2017–18 financial year.

Ben Hauser, Vice President Engineering, who accepted the award at a ceremony in Brisbane on 11 October, said it was an honour to be chosen from amongst a strong and diverse field of Small Business finalists including network monitoring software company AKIPS (Digital Technologies winner), shower storage manufacturer Tooletries (Emerging Exporter winner), and Cairns-based mining services provider International Mill Relines.

“Our software enables you to publish your content to 30 formats in three minutes, but the truly unique thing about it is that your automatically-created content looks beautiful, like a human has hand-crafted it,” Ben said.

“We have lots of gnarly algorithms and patented technology that make this possible, but ultimately our success is due to our staff all over the world. This award really belongs to the Typefi team—they’re the best in the world at what they do, they love what they do, and they deserve this!”

The Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards are coordinated by the Export Council of Australia on behalf of Trade and Investment Queensland. The annual event acknowledges those Queensland businesses engaged in international trade, and rewards their dedication to being the best at what they do within the state and around the world.

All national category winners will now go on to represent Queensland at the 56th Australian Export Awards in Canberra on 27 November.
