Financial Controller Michael Cousins and Marketing Associate Shanna Bignell accepted the award on behalf of the Typefi team at a gala dinner at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 20 October 2016.

“Many people have told us just how difficult it is to even be named as a finalist,” Michael said. “It’s such an honour to win, and a real tribute to the hard work of our team members around the world.”

CEO Chandi Perera was manning Typefi’s exhibit at the 2016 Frankfurt Book Fair when he learned of the announcement, and said he was happy to see Typefi recognised for its commitment to international business.

“Typefi started looking for export opportunities from the founding of the company on the Sunshine Coast in 2001. Our second major customer—and our first international customer—was Random House New York in January 2007,” Chandi explained.

“From there, Typefi has grown to be a recognised leader in automated publishing solutions, with around 90% of our customers based overseas. We place great importance on making the effort to meet our customers, no matter where in the world they are, and that has contributed greatly to Typefi’s success in international markets.”

Typefi will now go on to represent Queensland in the Small Business category at the Australian Export Awards on 24 November 2016.
