Multiple major organisations signed deals in Q1 2026 to use Typefi’s eXtyles replacement.

Maroochydore, AUSTRALIA – Typefi Systems Pty Ltd, a global leader in automated publishing and editorial solutions, has announced that six major organisations have signed contracts to use Typefi Orion™, the company’s new Microsoft Word®-based XML editorial software for scholarly publishers.

Launched in late December 2025, Typefi Orion is a drop-in replacement for Inera eXtyles®. It offers a feature set that matches the needs of current eXtyles users, along with advantages like faster processing, support for change tracking, and significantly easier customisation. Users can also import existing eXtyles configurations into Typefi Orion for a smooth transition.

After three months on the market, six major organisations have signed on to use Typefi Orion:

  • American Medical Association (AMA): One of the largest medical associations in the United States will use Typefi Orion to publish The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and 12 other JAMA Network Journals.
  • Canadian Drug Agency (CDA): CDA establishes drug policies across Canada and will use Typefi Orion to publish scientific and medical reports.
  • CFA Institute: This global non-profit provides continuing education to finance professionals and will use Typefi Orion to publish the quarterly Financial Analysts Journal.
  • Health Affairs: This monthly health and healthcare policy journal is published by Project HOPE and will be produced using Typefi Orion.
  • IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA): A division of IEEE, one of the largest electrical engineering societies in the world, IEEE SA publishes global standards across a wide range of electronics industries and will now use Typefi Orion to produce them.
  • International Labour Organization (ILO): The UN agency dedicated to setting labour standards will now use Typefi Orion to publish global labour statistics, research, and reports.

eXtyles is deeply integrated with the production processes at these organisations (and hundreds of others). As an Inera partner for over 20 years with multiple long-standing joint clients, Typefi understood this right from the start. Typefi has decades of experience with editorial and production workflows, software development, publishing automation, and XML transforms, all of which contributed to making Typefi Orion one of the most seamless eXtyles replacement solutions on the market.

“These organisations needed a powerful eXtyles alternative that they could start using quickly without disrupting their existing workflows, and only Typefi Orion met those criteria,” said Caleb Clauset, VP Product and New Markets at Typefi. “Signing these major clients within three months of launch affirms that we’ve created a seamless eXtyles replacement that meets the needs of existing eXtyles users.”

Typefi Orion is available now as an annual subscription in both cloud-based and on-premises configurations. The software is priced based on a range of factors, including your required features and number of seats.
