Balisage is The Markup Conference, devoted to all things descriptive markup. It’s a totally virtual event, happening from 3–7 August 2026, and it covers all areas of markup, including XML, XSLT, XSpec, SGML, XPath, XQuery, OOXML, EPUB, SVG, and a whole lot more.
Typefi staff have attended and presented at this conference for many years. We’re especially sad that this is the final year, but we’re honoured to be part of it! And we’re really going to be part of it—Typefi has three presentations on the schedule, and we’re a Silver sponsor.
Details about our presentations are still forthcoming, but we’ll likely have sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. These sessions will cover multiple aspects of Typefi Orion, including an overview of the Typefi Orion project, a look inside the collaborative development process, an in-depth demo, and a technical paper about the track changes architecture of Orion’s SmartReplace feature.
It’s going to be a truly special event. We’ll see you there!
