Conference Agenda

Thursday, October 13, 8:30 am—5:00 pm CEST

We have a full day planned for the User Conference, filled with informative discussions and plenty of time to catch up in person with the Typefi team as well as other Typefi users.

Coffee breaks will be provided throughout the day, and lunch is included, so come hungry! There will also be a cocktail reception following the event—grab a drink, stay a while, and let’s catch up!

The event will begin with a welcome coffee in the Foyer Mezzanine, followed by a short welcome address from Chandi Perera, Typefi CEO.

After that, we have some excellent sessions planned! Check out the summaries below to see what’s in store.

Typefi product outlook

Caleb Clauset, Typefi VP Product

There are plenty of exciting new developments in the works at Typefi. Caleb will fill you in on all the details of the Typefi product outlook and what’s to come in the future. He will also reveal one very exciting development that we’ll be announcing publicly soon—you’ll get the exclusive first look at the User Conference!

The present and future of Typefi Writer

Guy van der Kolk, Typefi Product Manager

Typefi Writer has always been a desktop solution—but the future of authoring will be online. Google Docs, Word365, and XML authoring tools have come a long way. Guy will discuss how we are optimising Writer for this shift, and reveal a couple of new Writer integrations with popular XML authoring tools!

Working with mathematics

Damian Gibbs, Typefi Solutions Consultant

Accurate and beautiful mathematical notation is essential for the credibility of any publisher. Maintaining the integrity of the authored equation in your published format is critical. Damian will explore two common methods of publishing equations, EPS images and MathML, and discuss how each is used in the publishing production workflow.

Case study: World Health Organization

Kevin Bird, Typefi Solutions Consultant

Sophie Guetaneh Aguettant, WHO Graphic Designer

The World Health Organization (WHO) needed a way for non-technical staff to generate PDF output to a consistent style—and Typefi had a solution. The team built a custom workflow where content can be created in a simple Word template without using Typefi Writer. Kevin and Sophie will discuss this unique workflow and how it allowed the World Health Organization (WHO) to streamline production of its WHO Guidelines.

A new approach to project management

Marie Gollentz, Typefi Project Manager

We’re excited to announce that we are implementing a new approach to project management at Typefi! As part of this change, any project you undertake with Typefi will now have a dedicated project manager. Marie will explain how this will work, how it will impact you, and the benefits it will bring.

Roundtable discussions

Typefi Staff

There will be time for roundtable discussions with Typefi staff on topics including authoring and editing tools, standards, maths, accessibility, and more. This is the perfect opportunity to bring up any questions you have about Typefi products, partnerships, and your specific use cases.
