Typefi Systems, the global leader in automation software for print, online and mobile publishing, is excited to announce the acquisition of Typefitter from Teacup Software.

Typefitter, a popular Adobe InDesign plug-in with hundreds of users worldwide, automatically finds and corrects text problems with a single click, including text overset, short lines, unbalanced columns and more.

Chandi Perera, Chief Executive Officer of Typefi, said: “Our mission is to help people publish content faster. With this acquisition, Typefi further enhances the value of our Typefi publishing platform by incorporating Teacup’s simple and elegant solution for automating copy-fitting without compromising typography.”

“I’m excited about Typefitter’s future with Typefi,” said Teacup CEO Lawrence Horwitz. “We’ve worked with Typefi for years, and feel very confident in the engineering talent and executive vision there. Typefitter is a great fit for Typefi’s publishing platform. I’m looking forward to working with them in an advisory role as they take over Typefitter’s operation, expand its staff, and develop it further.”

Typefitter will continue to be sold and supported as a stand-alone plug-in for Adobe InDesign CC and InDesign CS6, and as an add-on for Typefi 8 and Typefi Cloud. Stay tuned for more details on Typefi’s plans for this product in the coming months.
