Content specialists can focus on the processes associated with content — writing, editing, curation — while design specialists focus their skills on typography, layout and graphic design.

Content and design tasks can be performed in parallel, introducing both flexibility and speed into the production cycle.

This incredibly flexible workflow also enables single-source XML publishing, centralises asset management, and improves collaboration on publishing projects.

Content asset management

The Typefi workflow allows you to manage all your content assets via the web browser interface, which functions like a project “dashboard”. A Typefi Project comprises the content files, template file(s), image files, Job Options and other settings that define your document or series of documents. The size of your Project depends on your content: one project can be a single book or a book of multiple volumes, a journal or issue of a journal, a catalogue or series of catalogues, and so on. This allows all the assets for a Project to be managed and stored together.

On network and cloud systems, the centralised management and storage of all content assets facilitates collaboration among distributed work groups. For desktop systems, it’s pure convenience.
