Peregian Beach, QLD, Australia, February 14, 2011 -- Typefi Systems announces the release of Typefi® Publish v5, the next generation of the dynamic automated publishing solution built on Adobe® InDesign CS5 Server and Adobe® InDesign CS5.
Typefi Publish v5 enables users to automatically generate highly designed documents that look as if they were laid out by hand. Typefi Publish takes XML or Microsoft Word® content and flows it into InDesign CS5 Server to create InDesign source files and PDF files at the click of a button. Users can generate thousands of pages per hour, thus saving time and money as well as significantly reducing errors through manual copy/pasting.
Users now have the ability to create print and EPUB files from the same content at the click of a button by leveraging Typefi’s XML backbone and InDesign CS5’s improved EPUB support.
“Typefi has been providing XML and InDesign Server based solutions since InDesign 2 that dramatically improve our customers' processes. We are looking forward to the enhancements that Typefi Publish v5 and the InDesign family of products will deliver,” said Chris Kitchener, senior product manager for Adobe InDesign.
With Version 5, users gain even more flexibility in the placement of objects such as graphics, tables and charts with its improved floating elements feature. Designers set the rules on how they want types of objects to be placed within InDesign much like they would in a manual workflow. This gives designers much more control over how the creative elements are placed on the page without having to sacrifice the speed of an automated workflow.
Typefi Publish v5 fully supports the pagination of right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew. This support is enhanced through Typefi Systems’ partnership with WinSoft ScribeDoor, the desktop solution for right-to-left language support for InDesign.
Typefi continues to strengthen its commitment to partners by extending its Web Services Interface for more complete integration to content management systems and editorial solutions. Typefi has also developed an API for its Microsoft Word-based Typefi Writer allowing partners and customers to customize the authoring tool to meet its own specific requirements.
“The new functionality in version 5 will continue to help streamline the editorial process with our [Fodor's] travel guides,” says Siobhan O’Hare, Senior Art Director at Random House, Digital Publishing Development.
Whether it is publishing companies or larger corporations creating customer-facing or internal documents there is an increasing demand for outputting to multiple channels including print, EPUB and the web. Typefi can be an integral component in multi-channel output because of its XML backbone and round-tripping capabilities. This enables users to make changes to the InDesign document and return those content changes back to the source, thus facilitating multi-channel outputs.
Typefi is a leader and innovator in the development of intelligent, scalable, cross-media publishing solutions. Typefi is the only provider of completely standards-based, script-less publishing solutions for the rapid production of richly-formatted documents such as books, annual reports, manuals, journals, and marketing collateral in workgroups or enterprise-wide environments.
